In this article, we’ll share some natural, inexpensive, and easy-to-prepare remedies and some general advice that will help you banish those sweaty feet for good and get to the root cause.

We always recommend that you consult a doctor or dermatologist first, especially if you suffer from chronic sweaty feet, and that you use the remedies suggested by us as an additional remedy. Remember that some medications and foods can also cause excessive sweating or an unpleasant odor, but the sweaty feet are only temporary and will disappear once you stop taking them.

Try these remedies against sweaty feet

1. Clay Foot Mask

In the past we have already recommended masks with clay for glowing skin or to relieve pain from inflammation. In addition, a clay mask is also very effective for sweaty feet.

  • You can use green or red clay and mix it with warm water until you get an oily substance.
  • Then spread the cream on your feet and let it sit there for about twenty minutes.
  • Wash your feet with warm water afterwards.

Since clay has a tendency to dry things out, after removing the clay mask, you can rub your feet with a little almond oil or moisturizing creams.

Apply these foot masks once or twice a week, combined with the following remedies.

2. Essential Oils

Essential oils are not only therapeutic, but are also the ideal remedy for sweaty feet. Mix a few drops of essential oil with a vegetable base (olive, sesame, almond, sunflower etc.). That should suffice. However, you can also simply mix the essential oil with your usual foot cream.

  • Tea tree essential oil or tea tree oil is the first oil we recommend to you. This oil ensures that fungi or bacteria that could contribute to the bad smell are removed.
  • You can combine this oil with an essential oil of lemons, which, in addition to being conclusive and purifying, also has a nice scent.
  • Another option is lavender essential oil. This oil is cleansing and relaxing.

3. Walking Barefoot

Walking barefoot on natural surfaces such as sand and seawater, fresh grass, moist soil or in the river is the best way to make your feet sweat and release all toxic substances. It stimulates the general circulation in the body.

To get the best possible results, do this for at least half an hour a day, either in the morning or at night when it starts to get dark. Wash and cover your feet afterwards. Making this a daily routine will not only affect your feet, but your entire health.

4. Foot baths

A foot bath is pleasant and warm water is an easy-to-prepare, ancient remedy. You can also add sodium bicarbonate to the water, which will help remove the acid and toxins from the bottom of your feet and make the blood more alkaline. Large chunks of sea salt can also help. Sea salt is very relaxing and also helps to reduce swelling in the feet.

Mix two heaped spoons of sodium bicarbonate or salt with the water, preferably as warm as you can tolerate. Then let your feet soak for at least half an hour. When the water cools, you can add more hot water.

You can take these baths every day before going to bed or alternate with other remedies.

5. Sulfur in your shoes

You can also prevent sweaty feet during the day by sprinkling a little sulfur powder in your shoes. This substance prevents excessive sweating and the growth of fungi. Use only a pinch for each shoe and avoid contact with children or pets. Also wash your hands thoroughly after coming into contact with this substance.

General advice

The following general tips also prevent stinky feet:

  • Use a shoe that can breathe enough, especially in the summer or when you exercise.
